Saw palmetto might slow blood clotting and might cause extra bleeding during and after surgery. Stop using saw palmetto at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery due to concerns over possible increased bleeding risk. Taking saw palmetto along with medications that also slow blood clotting might increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. If you are currently taking blood thinners, anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin), antiplatelet medications (e.g. clopidogrel) or regularly taking aspirin or NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen, naproxen), please first discuss with your medical provider before using saw palmetto.
Taking high doses of biotin (>10 mg/day) may affect certain lab tests. The dose of biotin contained in the Keeps Daily Hair Defense Supplement is .01 mg, and the recommended daily dietary intake of biotin is .03 mg/day. Please inform your healthcare providers if you are taking additional sources of biotin.
