What causes erectile dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) occurs when a man has trouble getting or maintaining an erection firm enough for sexual activity. This typically results from insufficient blood flow to the penis. However, there are many possible factors that can cause ED, including: physical factors such as cardiovascular conditions; diabetes and high blood pressure; psychological factors such as stress, anxiety or depression; lifestyle choices such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and drug use; hormonal imbalances; neurological conditions; age; and medications. It is important that you share all of these details with your medical provider before requesting treatment.
What ED treatments are there?
We prescribe Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* and Sildenafil Citrate (generic Viagra®)**, which are FDA-approved and clinically proven to treat erectile dysfunction.
What is Tadalafil?
Tadalafil* is a generic form of Cialis®, an oral medication FDA-approved for treating Erectile Dysfunction.
How does Tadalafil (generic Cialis®) work?
Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* works by blocking PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5), an enzyme in the body that breaks down chemicals responsible for blood flow (and therefore erections). The result is increased blood flow to the penis to help a man get and keep an erection.
How to take Tadalafil (generic Cialis®) generic Cialis®?
Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* can be taken daily or as-needed. For daily use, take one tablet once per day without regard to timing of sexual activity. For as-needed use, take Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* at least 1 hour before sexual activity and up to 4 hours before.
How long does it take for Tadalafil (generic Cialis®) to work?
For daily use, Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* typically takes 1-2 weeks to provide maximum benefit. With as-needed use, Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* typically takes 1-2 hours to start working and lasts up to 36 hours in the body.
What are the most common side effects of Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)?
The most common side effects include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle pain, nasal congestion, flushing, and pain in limb. You can view detailed safety information for Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* here. Reach out to your medical provider regarding any side effects that you experience.
Are there potential Tadalafil (generic Cialis®) interactions with other medications?

Always consult your medical provider for safe medication use. Please tell your medical provider about any prescription or over-the-counter medications you are taking as Tadalafil (generic Cialis®)* may interact with other drugs.
